My Little Box

Today I discovered this little gem:, a monthly box of goodies delivered for only £11 plus postage!

Each box has a theme and contains My Little World lifestyle magazine, beauty products, latest trends, inspiring postcards and other surprises.

I signed up straight away and can’t wait to find out what February’s box contains…

First Dance

Penny & The Quarters are a “lost” soul band which came to prominence in 2010 after an unreleased demo of their song “You And Me” was used in the film Blue Valentine. Despite the sad context of the film, the song is incredible and perfect for a first dance.

If you love a soul more than fame and gold, and that soul feels the same about you,
It’s a natural fact, there’s no turning back, and here’s some advice to you:
You’ve got to say it’s, You and me.

January is often associated with the blues; no money, it’s dark, it’s cold and there are another 11 months until Christmas again.

I was born in January and am a total winter baby. I love a crisp cold walk through the snow (not that we see much of it here in the UK), and warm cosy nights in under a blanket. Which is why Winter is my favourite season for weddings.

Center Parcs Woburn Forest, January 2016

Winter weddings allow for gorgeous accessories, picturesque scenes like the above shot from Woburn Forest (who wouldn’t want to get wed in that winter wonderland!), and the chance to jet off on a romantic honeymoon during one of the most depressing months of the year.

Here a selection of my top picks for Winter Weddings…

  1. Eliza Jane Howell’s beautiful Sibella accessorised perfectly with a faux fur shrug:

2. Because you can’t guarantee the English weather, Wedding Wellies are a great daytime alternative to Jimmy Choo heels:

3. Nice Knits – who could forget Olivia Palermo’s chic green cardigan over her long sleeved separates?

4. Beautiful cold colour palettes:

5. Warm Wedding Favours like Hot Chocolate in a jar, gloves, a cosy blanket or a mini hot water bottle:

One bridal style which is a firm favourite of mine is a tea length gown which puts a pair of stunning shoes proudly on display.

One British bridal designer who seems to share this opinion is Vikki McCarthy at House of Mooshki. The ever growing designer collection has some of the most exquisite tea length gowns on the market today.

Their ethos is simple “One You, One Day, One Dress”, and there is sure to be that One Dress as the range satisfies every taste; from tulle to satin, scalloped to illusion necklines, cap sleeves to strapless.

It’s impossible to pick just one favourite!
